RHAF Gives $60,000 Area Charities for the Homeless!The St. Louis Association of REALTORS’® Board of Directors recently joined in with representatives from 29 organizations, along with members of the REALTOR® Housing Assistance Fund (RHAF) Committee, to celebrate the distribution of $60,000 in grant funding to local charities! RHAF, which is a not-for-profit arm of the Association, was established in 1989 as a venue for REALTORS® to give back to their communities in which they live. To date, more than $585,000 has been allocated to over 40 different charities, which support the homeless and the abused in the St. Louis area. The recipients of this year’s $60,000 distribution include: Almost Home, Beyond Housing, CASA of St. Louis County, Catholic Charities, Community Living INC, Doorways, Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition, Grace & Peace Fellowship, Haven of Grace, Humanitri, Independence Center, Lemay Housing Partnersjip, Life Skills, Lutheran Family & Children’s Services of Missouri, Lydia’s House, MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries, Our Lady’s Inn, Peter & Paul Community Services Inc., Project COPE, Rainbow Village, Rebuilding Together, Room at the Inn, Sister of Love, St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors, St. Louis Transitional Hope House, St. Patrick Center, Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service, The Salvation Army Home of Hope, and the Women’s Safe House. The RHAF Committee would like to thank members of SLAR and local businesses for their continued support of RHAF and its homeless program. In addition, the Committee would also like to thank Paul Prince, President of MARIS for their 3-year commitment totaling $30,000, and, also thank the St. Charles Board of REALTORS®’ CEO Mark Stallmann, for their donation and partnership with the RHAF program. Funding for the RHAF grants program were raised through special events and direct contributions from the Association membership and local businesses. Recipients of the grants were selected for the awards based on several criteria, including their efforts to help reduce, and eliminate homelessness in the St. Louis area.
